Conference Name 2016 Summer Workshop on New Quantum Materials and Transport
Content The 2016 Summer Workshop on First-Principles Computational Materials Physics and quantum transport, organized by the Materials and Transport Properties from Computational Quantum Mechanics thematic group in NCTS, will be held on June 23-24, 2016, in the National Chiao Tung University. The aim of this workshop is to promote interactions and collaborations among local physicists who employ first-principles electronic structure calculations in their research and those who are interested in transport phenomena. The aim of this workshop is to provide a channel for fruitful discussions and an opportunity to foster new collaborative research projects. The workshop also encourage graduate students and postdoctors to present their research achievement. Thirty-minute or fifty-minute presentations by faculty members and twenty-five-minute talks by postdoctors, and fifteen-minute talks by PhD students will be scheduled in the program. Graduate students towards Master's degree are encouraged to present their research in poster section. In case that receiving enthusiastic participation from PhD students and young postdoctors, we will encourage postdoctors and students to organize their own one-day student workshop perhaps on the day immediately after the regular workshop.
