Content In the post-genomics and the onset of gene-editing era, life is understood in unprecedented details in molecular and cellular levels while more preventive and controlling measures can be put in place to manipulate molecular and cellular behaviors with great clinical interest. Structural biology has been serving a central role and paradigm in unraveling the mechanistic details of molecular events in lengthened and expanded temporal and spatial scales in addition to their acknowledged medicinal applications. In line with the efforts winning 2017 Nobel Prize in Chemistry and a highlight of three invited cryoEM scientists, our mini-symposium ‘ Advance in Structural Biology and Beyond ’ in 2018 again gather top-notched experimental and theoretical structural biologists to deliver the latest development in the field to our local community, sponsored by NCTS（Physics） and IBSB, NTHU. We also invited outstanding speakers to provide the community with the status quote of latest national facilities including PetaFlop computers, TPS and cryoEM installation in Academia Sinica.
