Conference Name New Physics with Displaced Vertices
Content Motivated by the null results of new physics searches at the LHC, this workshop will bring together experimentalists and theorists to discuss unconventional searches for events with displaced vertices as well as missing energies. These events may be due to new long-lived heavy particles (LLP) such as mirror quarks and leptons in mirror models, long-lived sterile neutrinos in left-right symmetric model, supersymmetric particles with R-parity violation, displaced dark matter with long-lived parent particle, quirks/iquarks, etc.

In this workshop, we will discuss strategies and algorithms to search for some of these long-lived particles and to unravel the very rich physics underlying these events. We attempt surveys on experimental side and theory side. On the theory side, a survey of various classes of BSM that produce signatures of displaced vertices. What kind of detectors can cover most of them.

On experimental side, there have been a number of discussions of special detectors on searches for various LLPs, such as milliQan, MoEDAL, and MATHUSLA. We try to bring attention to the TW community on such issues. What should be the recommendation for the design that can cover most of the BSM with LLPs? What are the best recommendations for new triggering strategies for LLPs in ATLAS, CMS, and LHCb?
