Category Quantum computing and interdisciplinary applications
Event Duration 2018-11-26 - 2018-11-28
Conference Name The Second Workshop on Parton Distribution Functions
Content This series of workshops was initiated in 2017, and is expected to be held annually by the QCD community of Taiwan. The idea is to promote the interaction between invited speakers and local researchers on the subjects related to parton distributions through longer presenations and discussions in a relaxing mode.
Parton distribution functions and other similar nonperturbative objects, such as transverse-momentum-dependent distributions, fragmentation functions, etc. play an important role in many high-energy and nuclear physics experiments. They are also essential ingredients
in our theoretical understanding of the structure of hadrons. Recent developments in lattice QCD, model calculations, and global fits have offered opportunities for exploring these quantities deeply. In this workshop, we will discuss these novel methods and current results from their implementation.
