Novel Physics in One-dimensional Quantum Systems

http://phys.cts.nthu.edu.tw/actnews/?Sn=135

TIme: 13 -15. Sep

Location: 清華大學綜三館四樓演講廳

It is well known that one-dimensional quantum systems are very peculiar.
Due to huge quantum fluctuations, one-dimensional quantum systems are strongly influenced by the collective excitations.
Consequently there exist many novel phenomena in one-dimensional quantum systems.
In this summer school, we invite three theoreticians and one experimentalist who work on one-dimensional quantum systems to give lectures about the novel phenomena of one-dimensional physics.

Lecturers:
Prof. Hsiu-Hau Lin 林秀豪(NTHU), Renormalization group analysis for superconducting instabilities.
Prof. Miguel A. Cazalilla (NTHU), Bosonization and other obscurities of quantum many body theory made (HOPEFULLY) simple.
Prof. Ying-Jer Kao 高英哲(NTU), Tensor Networks and their applications in many-body systems
Prof. Watson Kuo 郭華丞(NCHU), Josephson junction arrays as the tunable one- dimensional boson system

Organizers:
Ming-Chiang Chung張明強(NCHU)
Pochung Chen 陳柏中(NTHU)

Location Lecture Room 4A, NCTS, General 3rd Building, Nat'l Tsing Hua Univ.
