Abstract:
It is well known that the traditional Feynman rule approach to scattering amplitude comes overly cumbersome and forbidding beyond four points and one loops. The on-shell approach provides a way to bypass the redundancy and much of the complexity of Feynman rules, while at the same time harnessing the power of symmetries (manifest or hidden) to simplify the computation. As an example, I will present the state-of-the-art, two-loop eight-point amplitude in ABJM theory, which exhibits remarkable features such as identical infrared behavior as four-dimensional N=4 SYM, as well as simple weight-two polylogarithm representation. I will comment on the conjecture of the n-point result, pointing to the possibility of completely solving the theory at the two-loop level.
