Title:Search for Emerging Jets at CMS
Time:2023/09/01 (Fri.) 13:00
Place:4F Lecture Hall, Cosmology Hall, NTU

Abstract:
In this talk, I will introduce the theoretical motivation behind a dark sector model with QCD-like interactions, the phenological signature of such models that would be seen in colliders, as well as a detailing the analysis efforts for searching for the "emerging jets" signatures that arise from such models using the CMS detector. This analysis uses jet-level tagging to identify the emerging jets signatures, as well as a fully data-driven method to derive the expected background from SM processes being mistagged as appearing signal-like. The presentation will demonstrate the limit reach that can be achieved using CMS run 2 data, potential outlooks for future development, and also introduce some complimentary searches for similar models ongoing in CMS.
